Spotlight on…Lucia!

We’ve been fortunate enough to have the brilliant Lucia working with us since September 2020 but, as we didn’t have a blog then, we wanted to take this opportunity to throw the spotlight on her!

Lucia is a theatre workshop facilitator, a performer and puppeteer. She specialises in: scheduled and bespoke events for young people; drama and performance; mythology; history; and, all things nature! Oh, and her favourite bean? The broad bean!

Lucia has 7 years experience leading youth theatre workshops for ages 4 - 17 in different settings including weekly classes for the Pauline Quirk Academy and Stagecoach, as well as standalone workshops for organisations including The Royal Shakespeare Company. For two years Lucia worked as a Mentor to home educated children in an outdoor democratic community with a focus on social and emotional development and non-violent communication skills.

Lucia trained with the Year Out Drama Company in Stratford-upon-Avon, focussing on Shakspearian and contemporary texts, directing and acting and with Circomedia in Bristol, specialising in pair acrobatics, movement, and clowning. Lucia has performed with a range of professional companies and in 2019 co-founded Scarlet Oak Theatre. You can find out about their latest puppetry show for children and adults, exploring issues around animal conservation here: https://www.scarletoaktheatre.com/

In 2018 Lucia gained a BA in Classical Studies and is particularly interested in Greek and Roman art, theatre, myth adaptation and microhistory. Lucia’s always eager to learn more about the natural world around us and is keen to bring her passions for history and nature to her work with young people.

Lucia offers group sessions on drama, history, mythology, and nature.
